Long time coming ....

After finally breaking free of a four year relationship that was going no good for myself or what was once 'us' ... I have been happily single for some time.  And it has given me a new prospective on things.

More to come as I hash out all the little details ....

The battle of the bulge ...

Okay ... alright.

I am getting more and more over weight, and I am not liking it.
I just put up a meter on my LJ user info to help keep track of my weight loss and re-activated mt fitday page so that I can get back into shape.

My goals for tomorrow:
- goto the gym and see if they still have me as a member and/or what I need to do to get back in.
- if I can get in - do 30mins to an hour of cardio
- drink 4 liters minimum of water a day
- cut out sodas ... totally (I can live without those calories)
- figure out what I need to buy food wise

That is it thus far. I figure starting out small is best.
And try not to smoke one cig (yes - I started back up again).
Get into doing more FlyLady friendly living.

G'night.

Depression ....

Things have gotten so bad around my home.

We have roaches again. Spoiled food in the frig. Clothes and food particals lay strung out on the floor. It is out of hand, it is affected my ablity to do anything I need to do. I can't have anyone over because I am soooo disgusted with the way things are. I plan on spending this day getting my head together and working toward reclaiming at least 2 rooms in my home. I decided to pick to small rooms to give me a sense of accomplishment.

Here is what needs to be done in the kitchen:
Clean out the frig
Clean the frig
Organize the frig

Clean out dishwasher
Clean out the dish drainer
Do the dishes
Clean cat bowls

Clean out the cat-box
Sweep up the litter on the floor
Sweep up the floor
Clean off the counters
Clean the counters
Clean the stove
Mop the floor

The bathroom:
Pick up all the clothes on the floor
Take out the trash
Clean the toliet

Clean all the hair out of the shower
Clean the tub
Clean the shower curtain
Sweep the floor

(I will do my best to strike out the things I have actually done)

It looks like alot, because it is. I have been sick and not wanting to do a thing because there is so MUCH to do. I have to do this. I Have to. I can't go on if I don't get this shit taken care of. Heavens help me get the motivation.

I want to study. I need to.
I want to dance again. I need to.

Take care of you.

Decided to jump back on the bandwagon - and quit smoking.
The day I had yesterday (high BP and racing heart with palpatations), and when I woke up this morning (full of mucus) - helped me want to try again. Not to mention the little cat I have adopted - he needs a smoke-free home.

So far I am:

5 hours, 27 minutes and 52 seconds. 4 cigarettes not smoked, saving $0.72. Life saved: 20 minutes.

Alrighty -

Need to tackle my office area tonight since I got off work early. I have TONS of papers to sort through and a load of books to find homes for. I have to re-claim this area quickly, because I am having tests coming up and I need to have an area where I can just 'melt' into and get cracking on studying.

The fewer the destractions the better. So if I can get a head up on things before hand, it will not be so frustrating when the time comes to actually sit down and get to business.

I am looking into finally getting my file hangers up and set - so putting away papers I need to keep won't be such an ordeal. I might actually need to goto the store and pick up another one - so both drawers to my file cabinet will be user friendly.

Such fun! {insert sarcastic sound here}

Anywho. Best of luck to me, huh?

Later.

If anyone is interested in cleaning your house, with minimal money spent - AND - doing it in an earth-friendly way .... You need to find a copy of "Clean & Green" by Annie Berthold-Bond. I found my copy at a resale book store and only spent 3 bucks on it. Well worth the 'recipies' for the 400+ ways to clean, polish, disinfect, deodorize, launder, removes stains, and even wax your car. I love this book. This is great for families with kids &/or pets. All the stuff is nontoxic and enviromentally safe. You have to love that. :)

Getting ready to head out and use some of my new cleaning recipies - but I will check in and let you know how it goes.

Did I tell you I love that book? I just got finished de-clogging my drains, and deodorizing my garbage disposal. I never thought it would be such fun!

Hitting the kitchen first, going through the pantry (re-organizing & cleaning) and general clean up. Put some dishes in the washer & cleaning my washing tools (a brush and a sponge) in that load. So in about another 15 mins I will be able to clean up the pots by hand with clean stuff. *grins*

And soon .... Bump-pa-dom! The dreaded bathroom. *LOL*

My goooooodness ... this book is fantastic! My bath tub has NEVER looked better. My bathroom floors as pretty and CLEAN.

I am sooooo excited about the kitten that will be gracing my home in a matter of days!!! Now to update on what I have been doing since this afternoon.

After taking some adderall around 2pm, I was finally able to get on task and get some stuff done. I usually hate taking meds for my ADD, but nothing else was working and I had to get things going.

I seriously sat down and cleaned up my computer desk. I even cleaned up the uber gross keyboard by hand ((you know - took each button off one by one and wipped them down)). Then got under the desk and re-organized the cords, vac'd, and dusted of the blinds.

Then moved onto the fireplace ... dusted the bricks off, and got rid of all the clutter infront of it.

Took apart the sofa-thingie and vac'd it. :P

Moved onto the main floor fan in the living/computer room, dusted and cleaned. Put away all of the DVD cases my roomie loves to leave lying about. Dusted off the TV unit.

Getting ready to do a WHOLE lot more. :)

roomies are evil

Just got done with the main neatness in the living room - tidied up and vac'd. Also cleaned my bathroom up (everything but the shower - not enough time).

My roomie called and now I have to play taxi. *argh*

The things I have to do today. The things that should have been already done. I doubt people even realize how hard it is to keep things tidy when you know that within a few hours later, it is just going to be just as bad as it was before or worse.

The frustration is paramont.

I am going to try cleaning everything myself again and see if I can get you-know-who to help me keep it that way.

Sitting here thinking about the things I would like to purchase (when finances improve) to help improve my small living space and maximize the storage space. For starters, I am really wanting to buy an antique armour for my living room. I plan on modifying it to accomidate my TV and stereo equipment [and perhaps so other living room items]. That way it can be open when in use, and closed when not - so I don't have to look at it when it is off. Actually, I would like to buy more than one. You would be amazed how helpful they are at organizing things - not to mention looking fantastic with any room.

I plan on asking my apartment complex if it is alright if I plan the walls. I am sooooo tired of this beige paint. And I would love to add some color to my rooms.

I have been doing some reading into Vastu (it is the indian tradition - to bring harmony to the home). I think I like the Vastu concepts on harmony and home. I found some literature on how to incorporate it into a dwelling that was not created with this design in mind.

Hmmm ... much more to read. But I have a mind-splitting head ache at this point. And I think I need to lay down.
